What's something good to add to boiled rice?

I love plain boiled rice, but lately I've been wondering what kind of sauces/spices I can add to it to make it taste good. I've done research that butter and a bit of garlic is good but I'm not sure about it. I'm not the best of cooks but I would like something easy and quick.

Thanks! What's something good to add to boiled rice?
I love rice and eat it regularly. If I want it mostly plain, I usually just add a vegetable bouillon cube, a little olive oil, minced garlic, and parsley for flavor. I usually prefer a sauce with my rice. I like to puree a can of stewed tomatoes and pour over the rice, or I sometimes add broccoli florets and top with cheese sauce. You can get ready-made cheese sauce like Ragu or condensed cheddar cheese soup. I also like to add black beans and salsa to my rice. There are so many things you can do to it, but if you just want to jazz up plain rice, I would go with the olive oil, garlic, and parsley, or try cooking it in vegetable or chicken broth for added flavor. You might also try topping it with a little hollandaise sauce. You can buy a powder mix for the hollandaise and just add water and cook over low heat until desired thickness. I think it is very good on rice. Hope those ideas help.
My suggestions (any of the following):

-Roasted garlic or raw garlic (it is delicious)

-Cardamon pods

-Onions: Green, white, yellow, red %26amp; Shallots (especially fried shallots, you can find these at Asian Markets...the flavor is incredible...I promise.)

-Nut (Walnuts, almonds, cashews, pistachios)

-Tamari/Soy Sauce

-Toasted Sesame Oil

-Herbs like thyme, chopped parsley, bay leaf

-Fruits flavors: Orange or Lemon zest (just the thin layer of the citrus fruit, none of the "pith"-the bitter white part, pineapple chunks

-Seasonings: salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, paprikaWhat's something good to add to boiled rice?
Sautee some finely diced onion and finely chopped celery in butter or margarine until transparent but not overly browned; stir in about 2 tbsp chicken broth and 1 to 2 tsps of curry powder. Stir and mix well...pour this into hot cooked rice, throw in a handful of raisins and peanuts and combine. I like to serve this with any kind of other vegetable to serve as a substitute meat course; for vegans, this constitutes a feast. Also good with leftover chicken, lamb or with a tin of tiny shrimp [rinse these well] folded in before serving. Another authentic touch for curried rice things: chopped hardboiled egg, toasted coconut, and [wait for it!] some orange marmalade mixed with pickle relish for a kind of fake chutney. Have you priced a jar of chutney in the last five years? I make my own!
You can add almost anything to rice ....

Chinese 5 Spice ( just a little sweet) %26amp; a drizzle of sesame oil or tahnini

Nutmeg %26amp; ground white pepper

a little soy sauce %26amp; manderine ogangeWhat's something good to add to boiled rice?
Try adding chicken bullion cubes. Be sure to reduce the salt you add. We also eat a lot of rice with gravy, brown gravy packets are good.
