What research paper topic should i choose?

Well, i need to do a research paper and the main theme for the paper is something that has to do with the world and what seems unjust or needs changing.

I'm really into animals and the environment, but not sure what kind of topic i should choose.

Do you guys think the "fur industry" would be a good topic? Global warming is a very big topic and lots of people are choosing it, so i dont really want to do that.

The fur industry is horrible but it doesnt affect everyone. Just the people who still buy it. You should choose a topic that everyone can relate to, and people will be able to see what kind of changes they can make to stop it. A good topic would be how ethical the food industry is. There is tons of information about the horrible cruelty animals go through in the food industry (slaughterhouses, egg production, dairy farms, etc). You would be amazed at how horrible these animals are treated. They are kept in cages so small they cant even turn around. And then they are slaughtered, often still conscious. The dairy industry isnt much better. The female cows are continuously bred so they will produce milk. When they have the calf, the calf is immediately taken away so the mother continue being milked. The males are either killed or sent to veal farms because the dairy farm has no use for them. This would be a very controversial topic, which is what a good research paper consists of. The research will probably make you consider veganism. Good websites are www.goveg.com, peta2.org, peta.org, hsus.org. There is tons of info on the web. Everyone should be educated about where their food comes from.

You could also put in the paper, the health benefits of becoming vegetarian/vegan.

The environmental impact of the food industry is detrimental as well.

The fur industry would be a good topic, because it's been covered a lot; almost as much as global warming. If you want to do something provocative, maybe discuss the use of animals as food for humans...? Maybe you can talk about Darwin's survival of the fittest, population control, etc.?
